A New Chapter: Navigating Your Transition

At Poshmark, our community has always been at the heart of everything we do. As we prepare to wind down Poshmark UK, Poshmark Australia, and Poshmark India, we want to ensure that your passion, dedication, and unique style find a new place to shine.

To this end, we’d like to offer some tips on navigating this transition.

  • Relocating Your Closet: Want to take your Poshmark content with you? Download your inventory report, which captures details of your active listings. This can be particularly useful if you’re looking to bulk upload items to another platform. Please ensure this is completed before November 2, 2023.
  • Exclusive Incentives from Other Platforms: As a token of appreciation for our community, several marketplaces are rolling out special offers for Poshmark sellers:
    • Depop: Benefit from zero selling fees for new users based in Australia, starting from 31st October and running through the end of 2023.
    • eBay: Enjoy $0 variable fees on your initial five pre-loved fashion sales, or opt for a complimentary 6-month Store subscription, valid until the year’s end.
    • Please note that these promotions, and any activity on those platforms, are solely governed by Depop’s and eBay’s respective Terms and Privacy Policies. Any existing Poshmark balances are non-transferable.

Thank you for being an integral part of our journey. Here’s to new beginnings, and to a community that never stops shining.

A Letter from the CEO: An Update on International Marketplaces

Dear Poshmark Community,

Our mission has always been to put people at the heart of commerce. From the start, we envisioned a vibrant community that would share their style and create the largest network of shoppable closets across the world.

And while our ambition to connect as many closets as possible remains the same, I’m sad to share that we’ve made the tough decision to close three of our expansion marketplaces: Poshmark UK, Poshmark Australia, and Poshmark India, effective October 26, 2023. I know this is especially hard news for those of you across the globe who have come to know and love Poshmark—please know that I’m incredibly grateful for you and for the community that we’ve built together. We hope to be back at some point in the future.

This move, while difficult, will allow us to focus our energy and increase our investments in our core markets, the U.S. and Canada.

For additional information please see our FAQs and thank you for your continued support of Poshmark.

With gratitude,

Manish Chandra
Founder and CEO, Poshmark

Posh Tip: How to Take Your Home Covershots to the Next Level

Covershots are a first impression of your closet and style because they’re the first thing a buyer sees as they’re scrolling through Poshmark. Set your Posh Home Covershots apart from the rest by following this simple guide that will have you leveling up your Covershots in no time.

Lighting

Do take advantage of the natural light in your home! Open up all the curtains or blinds and let that natural shine through. This will make your Covershot come to life. Lacking the natural light? Try out a ring light to get that light just right.

Don’t take photos in dark areas that will create shadows on your listings.

Background

Do get creative and use home decor like plants, coffee table books, etc. to make the shot feel homier and show how the pieces fit into a larger space.

Don’t overcrowd your Covershot. Although adding additional decor to your Covershot makes it more visually appealing, make sure you aren’t overcrowding an image with too many items that will make the buyer do guesswork on what’s actually for sale.

Styling

Do style your items. For a Home listing, similar to clothing, buyers look to sellers for inspiration on how to style, and giving a glimpse of what an item looks like in your home will do just the trick. Have fun with styling your item and be sure to include detailed shots of the item itself.

Don’t leave room for imagination. This photo is great as an additional detail shot, but there’s nothing in this photo that gives reference to the pillow’s size. Help your potential buyers envision how they can see this in their home with your Covershot.

Editing

Do use minimal editing on your Home listings. If your space was too dark make sure to bring up the brightness and make that photo Covershot-worthy.

Don’t use harsh filters on your images that could misrepresent the item you’re selling.

Listing

Do get descriptive with your listings. When crafting a description, think about how you would describe the item if your buyer couldn’t see it. Posh Tip: when your listing’s description contains more than 100 words, the likelihood of a sale increases by 40%.

Don’t write a five-word or less description. Add ideas on how you’d style the item, or share a personal anecdote about it. Poshmark is inherently social and adding these details will build a stronger connection between you and your buyers.

Sell to Buy!

At Poshmark, we’re all about helping you fall in love with your closet again. How? By selling the fashions you love, but no longer wear and using the money you make to buy what you really love today!

1. List an item for sale. It’s easy and fun! Snap photos of the item you want to sell with your phone, fill out basic information, and…voila! You’ve created a listing!

2. Your item sold! Now what? Print out the shipping label we send you via email, attach it to your package, and send it off USPS. Poshmark will handle everything else!

3. Poshmark will release your money to you once your buyer accepts your item (or 3 days have passed since she received the item)!

4. Take your earnings and use them to buy that designer handbag or gorgeous heels you “Liked” on Poshmark and can’t stop thinking about! Win-win!
