Simplified Lower-Priced Shipping and Commission Change

image

Over the past year, you’ve given us valuable feedback about ways we could help you achieve even greater success selling fashion items in your closet. One of your most frequent requests is for lower shipping fees to encourage buyers to purchase more. We’ve also heard that you love the ease and simplicity of selling on Poshmark, but we know we can do more. Therefore, we’re so excited to announce that we have partnered with the United States Postal Service (USPS) to bring you PoshPost, a new, simpler shipping label exclusive for Poshers.

PoshPost officially launches this Thursday, March 20th at 12:00 a.m. PT. If you have any questions, check out our FAQs. We’ll also be taking questions here.

Introducing $4.99 shipping on all orders.  We will reduce the shipping rate for buyers from $6.99 to $4.99 for any order under twenty-five dollars. This means that all orders, no matter the price, will ship at the same low rate of $4.99. We know your buyers will be very excited about this change, which means more sales for everyone. Think of this as a permanent shipping promo! Learn more.

Up to 5 pounds for free with PoshPost.  In addition to continuing to provide a free shipping label when you make a sale, PoshPost increases your free weight allowance to 5 lbs. (up from the current two pound limit). Now you can ship a large bundle, those knee-high boots, or that handbag with a lot of hardware, worry free and without having to pay for an upgraded label. The new 5 pound label helps keep selling on Poshmark simple and fun.  Learn more.

Flat Poshmark commission for orders less than $15.  In order to support lower-priced shipping for all orders and provide a more robust label to simplify shipping we are making our first ever change to our commission. Beginning March 20, 2014, we will be changing our commission for orders less than $15 to a single flat rate of $2.95. Commission for orders $15 and up will remain unchanged at 20% of the selling price. This also means that all items below $3 will no longer be available for purchase on Poshmark. Learn more.

What Boxes Can Be Used to Ship Poshmark Sales

As you may know, Poshmark uses Priority Mail shipping labels for all Poshmark orders. But what boxes can you use to ship? We’re here to clear that up for you!

Priority Mail Boxes

USPS offers a line of FREE boxes and envelopes for Priority Mail customers. This packaging can be picked up at many Post Offices, but keep in mind that at some locations they may be kept behind the counter so you’ll have to ask for them. Don’t have time to go to the post office? No sweat! You can order supplies for free on USPS.com or on their free mobile app.

Your Own Packaging

If you have your own boxes or padded envelopes lying around, you are, of course, welcome to use them to ship your sales. We do caution that you are careful to cover or remove any old shipping labels, barcodes or addresses so that your package is properly delivered.

What Not to Use

USPS offers a variety of free packages for it’s different mail services. If you are using the boxes they provide, be sure you are not shipping in the boxes that are labeled ‘Express,’ ‘Flat Rate,’ or ‘Regional Rate’ as they will causes delivery delays and/or additional shipping fees.

As always, if you have questions about shipping or anything else, please feel free to reach out to our support team. We’re happy to help!

Exciting News: Reduced Shipping Rates on Poshmark!

image

At Poshmark HQ, we’re always thinking about ways to make selling and shopping on Poshmark that much more easy and convenient for our community. That’s why we’re so pleased to announce a new lower-priced shipping policy! Our standard shipping rates have been reduced to:

  • $4.99 on orders $25 and above
  • $6.99 on all other orders
  • Our standard pre-paid shipping label now covers packages up to 2lbs. You can always upgrade your shipping label for packages over 2lbs. Check out our Posh Guide to see how you can do this within the app!

The new reduced shipping rates take into account a better understanding of our business and the amazing feedback we have received from you, our Poshmark community, so thank you!

But that’s not it! Here are some other recent improvements that we have made to our system that will help sellers on Poshmark:

  • More Control Over Your Orders: We’ve launched a series of self-service tools accessed directly from the app to give you immediate access to your orders. These self-service tools include label upgrades, order cancellation requests, delayed shipment notifications, and more!
  • Tighter Integration With USPS: Sometimes packages end up in the wrong spot. Misrouted packages means delays for your buyers. We have been working directly with USPS to reduce the number of misrouted packages that happen. More efficiency here means your buyers will get your packages that much faster.
  • More Efficient Return Addresses: We now submit your own return shipping address to your shipping labels. This allows you to have more control over your entire order process and minimizes the lost time incurred on returned packages.

And, of course, we will not stop here.  We will continue to work every day to make your Poshmark experience better and better.

Happy Poshmarking!

Posh Tip: Utilize the USPS Mobile App

This week the Community Team brings you a Posh Tip shared by one of our community members in the app. The USPS Mobile App offers a variety of useful features that all Poshmarkers can utilize to make their lives more streamlined when it comes to purchasing and selling. What’s not to love?

For starters, we love that you can track all of your packages right from the app (fig.3). Simply scan the bar code of your sale’s shipping label or type in the tracking number of your purchase. You’ll have the ease and comfort of carefully monitoring your package’s progress as it moves through the mail stream at the tips of your fingers. (Gotta love technology!)

The other thing we find useful in the app is the “Schedule A Pick Up” feature (fig.4). We understand that many of you have busy lives. Take the opportunity to utilize USPS’ scheduling feature and have your parcel picked up to ensure your order is shipped and delivered in a timely manner. Everyone loves receiving packages on time, so if you can’t make it to the post office or a blue mail box, consider scheduling a pick up.

Lastly, we are big fans of the “Get Supplies” (they’re free!) option (fig.5). Sometimes you don’t have a spare unmarked box at home and need one from USPS. Take advantage of their in-app feature to order some so that you always have them handy when you’re ready to ship a package. Just be sure that they’re plain Priority Mail boxes, not Flat Rate, Regional Rate, or Express Mail.

We want to thank and give a huge shout out to our community member, Lilac, who took the time to share this information in her closet this week. We love seeing useful information shared within the community and hope everyone can benefit from this week’s Posh Tip!

Happy Poshmarking!
