New Seller Tools: “My Closet Stats” & “Not for Sale”

With our latest release of the app, we introduced two new tools to empower sellers on Poshmark take even more control of their closets, merchandise, and interactions with potential buyers: “My Closet Stats” and “Not for Sale” listing status.

1. “My Closet Stats”: My Closet stats gives you important information about your closet, your sales history, and the experience you are delivering to your buyers. This page and the information included on it is private (for your eyes only!) and meant to help you continue to succeed. To get to your closet stats, click on your profile tab at the bottom right of the app > click on “My Closet Stats.”

We’d love to hear your feedback on this tool, Posh sellers! Please click through to this PM Editor listing and let us know what other information about your closet you’d find helpful for selling more on Poshmark.

Examples of the type of information you’ll find in “My Closet Stats”:

  • Available listings: The total number of unsold listings available for sale in your closet. Closets with a great number of “Available Listings” are more likely to sell an item to a buyer (we recommend having at least 10 available listings in your closet).
  • Self-Shares: The total number of times you have shared a listing from your closet in the last 30 days. Sharing your listings to your followers and to parties will increase the number of potential buyers viewing the listing and your closet.
  • Listings Sold: The total number of listings you have sold in your closet. (Special kudos if you’re one of the top 10% sellers on Poshmark – keep it up!).
  • Total Earned: The total amount of money you have made through your sold listings on Poshmark, less Poshmark fees.
  • Days to Ship: The average time you have thus far taken to ship your orders to buyers. We calculate the time between when the order was placed and when your package was accepted by the US Postal Service. The faster you ship an order to a buyer, the faster she can start enjoying her purchase! If you delay shipping an order to a buyer, you may harm her purchase experience and reduce the chance she shops your closet again.

2. “Not for Sale” Listings: You now have a clear way to tell buyers which listings are no longer available in your closet. This includes items sold in bundles, reserved listings, notes, or purchases that you just want to share with other Poshers (#PoshFinds!). Listings that are marked “Not for Sale” don’t have a blue “Buy Now” button, but others will still be able to see, like, share, and comment on them.

To mark a listing as “Not for Sale”: click the “Edit” icon on the listing details page > select “Mark as Not for Sale.”

To make one of these listings available for purchase: click the “Edit” icon on the listing details page > select “Mark as Available.”

Note: Poshmark’s minimum listing price is $3. Listings with a $0, $1, or $2 listing price are automatically set to “Not for Sale” listing status and won’t have a “Buy Now” button. For more info, please check out our FAQs here.

Posh Tip: How To Make Your First Sale

So you downloaded Poshmark, now what? Here are some easy ways to get your new listings marked with a SOLD banner and fast!

1. Style Your Covershot

Your Covershot is the very first photo of your listing and remember, first impressions count! Make sure your Covershot is well-lit and clear. Experiment between flatlays and modeled photos to give your potential buyers a clear idea of what they’re buying.

2. Describe Your Items Accurately

Take time to accurately describe the item you are listing. Include info such as the condition the item is in, if it runs true to size, and tips on what to pair it with. Answering your potential buyers’ questions up front will help them decide to hit that “Buy” button quicker.

3. Attend Posh Parties

Posh Parties are real-time virtual shopping events where fashion lovers (like you!) meet up in the Poshmark app to shop, share, and sell clothing and accessories.  Posh Parties

4. Be Responsive & Engage with Others

When someone posts a question about your listing, respond promptly. If you wait too long,  your potential buyer could lose interest. Remember, your Newsfeed is your friend!

Also, Poshmark is very much a social marketplace. Find others with the same shoe size and follow them. Share others’ listings that you think are fantastic. Trust us when we say that the love you help spread will get returned…and could result in a sale!

Getting Started on Poshmark

New to Poshmark? No problem! We think you’ll find selling on Poshmark so easy that you’ll wonder why you haven’t tried it before.

Before you start listing, make sure to add your GSTIN (Goods and Services Tax Identification Number). As mandated under government regulations, all sellers making interstate sales of goods and supplies via e-commerce platforms will need to register under GST and add a GSTIN to sell on the platform.

For more information about GST, including potential obligations, and to register as a seller under GST, visit the GST portal at https://www.gst.gov.in/.

To add your GSTIN, head to the Account tab > My Seller Tools > Manage Tax Info > Add GSTIN.

Here’s how it works: List. Ship. Earn. It’s really as simple as 1-2-3.

Step 1:  List Your Item.

Start by finding an item in your closet that you love but just don’t wear anymore. For example, do you have….

  • A dress you wore to a wedding once?
  • A skirt that still has tags on it?
  • Jewelry from an ex that just needs to go?
  • Throw pillow that just didn’t work out?

Then, list them for sale on Poshmark! It’s easy and free.

Step 2: Ship Your Item.

Once your item sells, let PoshPost do the hard work for you. We’ll send you a prepaid, pre-addressed shipping label. All you have to do is package your item, attach a shipping label, and drop it off or schedule a pick up. Posh Tip: Check out Packaging and Shipping in the Community Toolkit for more info and the latest features to help you pack and ship with ease.

Step 3: Earn Cash.

You can cash out your earnings from Poshmark anytime! Choose how you want to redeem your money, or you can use your earnings to purchase directly on Poshmark.

Here’s how our fees work: When you make a sale, we will deduct a commission fee from your earnings.

Here’s what you get in return: We handle the financial transaction for you (including paying all those pesky credit card fees), provide you with a pre-paid pre-addressed shipping label, and will serve as your customer support team for your sale.

Once you see how simple and easy selling is on Poshmark, you will fall in love with your closet…again. Sell what you have in your closet so you can shop for what you REALLY love today.

Happy Poshing!
