PMHQ Picks

This week our Community Team selects chic favorites that would be perfect to take on a summer getaway. Tropical beach vacations, sunny festival weekends, fun-filled days and warm nights with your girlfriends— Angela and Gloria give you options for wherever your summer may take you.

Angela’s Picks

1. Blue High Low Dress – $62
This bright blue dress is such an eye-catcher! The flow of the dress would be perfect for a romantic nighttime stroll on a beach somewhere warm and tropical.

2. Printed Shorts – $20
These playful, printed shorts remind me of a fun day with the girls. Brunch, shopping, you name it!

3. Vogue Sunglasses – $85 retail $110
I love these sunglasses for any vacation or beach day this summer -especially after a late night out with friends. Can’t go wrong with a big frame and a pop of color!

4. ‘Hello’ Crop Top – $10
What a conversation piece! You’ll be meeting people instantly with this fun and inviting crop top at all the summer festivals!

Gloria’s Picks

1. Zara White Wrap Mini Skort – $40 retail $50
There’s something about a crisp white piece that makes me think of being on a summer getaway. White is incredibly flattering and will make your skin look extra tan while you’re in the sun. These asymmetrical lines are also so on trend; definitely a summertime staple!
2. Floral Dress – $25 retail $50
This bold and feminine body-con printed dress is an absolute show stopper. I would feel like a million bucks wearing this dress on vacation!
3. H&M Digital Mirror Floral Tee – $8 retail $18
This semi-sheer printed top combines two things I’m obsessed with: Rorschach print and floral. The bright neckline and sheerness of this top keeps it playful, yet chic at the same time.
4. Bauble Bar Cut Crystal Strand – $15 retail $38
As someone who loves jewelry, but wears it minimally on a day to day basis, I love to go all out when I’m on vacation or on a getaway. This chic bauble bar necklace would add a dash of glamour to any outfit!
Happy Poshmarking!

One Trend, Two Ways: Polka Dots

Meet Laura and Emily.

Laura is strutting her way through a fabulous life in Memphis, balancing a day job and her blog, Walking in Memphis in High Heels. Emily is a fashion fanatic originally from Arkansas, living a fashionable life one day at a time and updating her adorable blog, The Sweetest Thing.

Laura and Emily met on Poshmark and instantly connected through their love for fashion(hello, matching shoes!)… and the rest is Posh history! Today, they are collaborating with us to feature one of our favorite trends for the summer: polka dots.

Here’s what they have to say about this trend:

“Polka dots have been around forever in fashion, but they are still so fun and fresh today. They’re such a great classic trend and can act like a neutral too! I am loving them for this spring and summer to add an extra punch to my outfits.”

– Laura

“Polka dots are back! ‘O’, but wait! Did this fun pattern ever leave the fashion scene? No, because polka dots are a fashion staple! Polka dots can be fun and retro, very geometric, classic, sophisticated, graphically bold, and very modern. For me, the beauty of the dots is its natural ability to play well with other patterns. Mixing dots with stripes or plaids, or other colors and/or sizes of dots allows me to mix and match and expand my wardrobe while creating an unique style … with a pop!”

– Emily

Meet Pamela: a rockstar Poshmarker from Seattle who loves to shop.

Whether it’s on Poshmark, at Nordstrom’s flagship store, or a variety of local boutiques, she’s all about it! If you peek into her closet, you’d find a whole lot of black, but Pam uses these pieces to achieve three signature styles: “clean and classy with an edge”, “drippy drapey” a la Rick Owens or Alexander Wang, or boho… and she totally rocks these well.

You can catch her Poshmarking anywhere from the road in her car (in the passenger seat, of course), in bed, on break at work, and even while shopping! Read on to see what else she has to say about her love for Poshmark and so much more!

Poshmark (PM): Why do you love Poshmark?

Pamela (P): There’s so many reasons I love Poshmark. One, it’s given me a reason not to let my closet go haywire. I can actually maintain my closet now. It’s a bit more manageable than it was last year before I started using the app. Two, I love stumbling across items I have missed in store or I am currently obsessing about, but know the fiancé would freak if I purchased that item at retail value. Lol. Three, it’s given me the opportunity to build new friendships with ladies who are just as obsessed with fashion as I am. And four, I get to see first hand how lovely people can be. I see closets on Poshmark that actually donate the earnings they receive to charities. I just think that’s fantastic!

PM: What was your favorite Poshmark purchase?

P: My Alexander Wang Rocco with all black hardware for $450! That was such a steal!

PM: As an amazing Poshmarker, what are some tips and tricks you would give to new community members?

P: Covershot and description are everything! Always make sure the pictures are clear and thoroughly describe the item. Don’t describe the items as “pink shirt” or “black shoes” Look at it this way, would you buy something at an online shop that describes items in that manner. Also, SHARE, SHARE, SHARE! Share your items and share others. I know some ladies have shared my items and out of curiosity I’d start filtering through their closets and I’d find items that I would end up purchasing. Make sure to play nice; this is like owning your own shop. Ladies remember who wasn’t easy or nice to work with. Just like that 100 other Poshers know about you—and not in a good way. Finally, just have fun! This app was made to sell and buy and build new friendships!
