Step One: Take Listing Photos

Ready to list? It all starts with taking photos. Tap Sell in the app or click Sell on Poshmark on the web to get started. You can snap a photo within the app or upload them directly from your phone’s camera roll. Add up to 16 photos and 1 video to your listing to show shoppers every detail and angle of the item. Posh Tip: Check out tips on how to take great listing photos in the Poshmark Listing Photography Guide.

Step Two: Show Me the Details

Photos, check! Your next step is adding all the details. It’s important to be as descriptive as possible. Here’s what your buyers need to know:

  1. Add a descriptive title
In a few short words, describe what you’re listing to draw shoppers in with helpful keywords. For example, if you’re listing a black dress from Zara, add a descriptive title like “Black Zara Midi Dress.” Posh Tip: Include the brand, category, and other defining features in your listing title to help your item get discovered.
  1. Add a descriptive & accurate description
Use this section to break down all the details such as fabric content, sizing, measurements, how you would style the item, etc. that aren’t obvious through photos. Be sure to mention any details about the item itself, such as condition (like normal wear and tear) so shoppers know what they’re buying. Posh Tip: Include descriptive keywords like popular style terms, patterns, materials, and trends to help shoppers find your item.
  1. Category
Indicate which category your item falls into so it shows up in the right Market for shoppers. Posh Tip: Add a subcategory to help shoppers find your item faster when searching.
  1. Size
Small? Medium? One size fits all? Double-check you’re selecting the correct size.
  1. Original Price
If you remember the original price of the item you’re selling, input it here so shoppers know how great of a deal they’re getting by purchasing the item from you. Posh Tip: If you know the manufacturer style name for the item you can search for it online!
  1. Listing Price
Name your price. Once you input a listing price, you’ll see how much you’ll be earning after fees once your item has been purchased. Cha-ching!

Check out the optional listing components below. The more descriptive you are, the more likely a shopper will see your listing!

Quantity
Own more than one of the same exact item? Sell them all in one listing rather than creating a brand new one. Once this is activated, you’ll be able to select the sizes and quantities available right underneath this section.

Brand
More often than not, people are searching for a specific brand, so adding the item’s brand will give your listing more exposure. Posh Tip: Listings with brands included are more likely to sell than listings without a brand!

Color
Now, we’re getting down to the nitty-gritty. Mark the two colors that are most prevalent in your item. Posh Tip: If your item has multiple colors, we suggest adding the main color first!

New with Tags (NWT)
Is the item you’re selling new with the tags still on? Let shoppers know it’s brand new. Shoppers can filter their searches by New With Tags and this will help them find your item!

Style Tags

Sometimes shoppers are looking for specific trends or styles. Make your listings even more discoverable with Style Tags—an easy way for shoppers to find and shop your items. Add style descriptors (think silhouette, trend, aesthetic, etc.) directly to your listings—they may even show up in Trend emails and Today’s Trends.

Additional Details (Private)
The Private Listing Field is perfect for Poshers who are growing their inventory and need a bit more organization. These fields are only visible to you and can be found in your Sales Report and Inventory Report

  • SKU: A unique code that you’ve created specifically for this item. It can be any combination of numbers and letters.
  • Cost Price: The original amount you paid. It may be different from the Original Price.
  • Other info: Consider this your personal notes section to add any details you’d want to track.

Step Three: Share to Your Networks

Once you tap “Next”, you’re given the option to share your listing to your connected social media accounts or to your own closet. Just tap the slider to select which channel you’d like to cross-share to. Lastly, tap “List” and voila! You have your very first listing.
