Gearing Up for the Grammys: Record of the Year Nominees

Music’s biggest night is right around the corner and the nominees for the 62nd Grammy Awards are artists we know and love. We broke down the iconic artists nominated for Record of The Year and their killer style, which you can shop on Poshmark.

At just 18 years old, Billie is the youngest artist in Grammy’s history to be nominated in four major categories. She pushes the boundaries when it comes to her music and personal style— unapologetically bold and not afraid to take risks. Throughout her career, she’s been recognized for her comfy, oversized style and neon color scheme. When it comes to the red carpet, Billie stays true to her roots but always adds a personal touch that feels daring yet totally inventive and trendy. Some of her most iconic looks to date have been her ostentatious head-to-toe designer logo outfits from Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Burberry.

Lil Nas X’s rise to fame is incredible to watch. His undeniably catchy hit “Old Town Road” rose to the top of charts which eventually scored him six Grammy nominations. Not only does he make moves in the music industry by infusing Country Rap with a mainstream audience, but he also makes moves as a certified style star. More often than not, you’ll catch Lil Nas X sporting a flashy cowboy suit complete with a cowboy hat. Needless to say, he’s not shy of the spotlight when it comes to stepping out of fashion norms. Can’t nobody tell him nothin’.

Just when you thought Ariana Grande was at the peak of her success, she recently added another career milestone: face of the house of Givenchy. Creative Director, Clare Waight Keller, referred to Ariana as a “modern muse and the voice of a generation” and we couldn’t agree more. Her go-to look is a mini dress paired with over the knee boots, topped off by her iconic high ponytail are a part of her identity, which was the focal point that couldn’t be missed in her debut Givenchy campaign, #ARIVENCHY.

Khalid is quite literally a free spirit when it comes to his sense of style. The twice-Grammy-nominated artist is all about the bright colors and comfort. Slim-fitting clothes are his go-to when he’s performing inside massive stadiums for his dedicated fans. He once told GQ, “This is why I wear more fitting, not too tight, not too big clothing items. Because I’m gonna jump, I’m gonna rip my pants, and everyone’s gonna see.” His style is something we can definitely get behind. Khalid, can we just talk?

As one of the leading nominees for this year’s awards, 2019 was Lizzo’s year to say the least. The queen of confidence and glamour made her way to the top of the charts and made her mark in fashion, one outfit at a time. In a recent interview with Billboard, Lizzo’s stylist Marko Monroe, says his favorite red carpet look to date has either been her VMA’s red “Siren” Moschino gown with the matching feather boa or the Valentino mini dress and “tiny bag” moment from the AMA’s which practically broke the internet. No matter the outfit Lizzo brings her A game all while looking good as hell

When it comes to being unique, you can always count on Post Malone to bring it.  He’s known for his musical style that draws inspiration from across genres, effectively intertwining hip-hop, rap, pop, rock, and R&B. He brings the same spirit to the red carpet. Catch Post Malone rocking a blinged up Dickies jacket or a pair of his namesake Crocs.

R&B singer and songwriter Gabi Wilson, known best as her stage name, H.E.R., already has a few Grammy Awards under her belt. The Bay Area native is dedicated to keeping her identity subtle and low-key and is adamant that the less conventional approach she takes as an artist allows her music and lyrics to speak for themselves. Her mysterious persona as a musician is of course, also reflected in her style. H.E.R. has fully nailed the “cool girl” look and is all about accessorizing; she’s practically trademarked her must-have accessory which are a pair of chic sunglasses and her red carpet appearances always show her wearing the coolest wide legged pants.

Wisconsin indie-folk band, Bon Iver, was nominated four times this year including Record and Album of the Year. Behind this band is the front man, Justin Vernon, who founded the band back in 2007. Known for his lyrical and melodic music, we can expect the same with his sense of style, often seen at music festivals sporting a band tee and bandana.
