We’re excited to introduce Poshmark City Guides to you all! Inspired by every city we visit for Posh Party LIVE (and each and every city in-between!), we’ve asked local Poshers to dish about what their favorite places from best thrift shops to spots to hang with a PFF. We’re excited to kick things off with none other than Austin!
Weird, funky, and fun. Based off what we asked the community, those three words encompass the spirit of Austin, Texas. With so many great recommendations of where to eat, meet a PFF or source new inventory, Texans proved Austin has it all and so much more! Whether you’ve never been to Austin, been there a couple times, OR live there, be sure to check out these must-try places straight from the Poshmark community!
Where does everyone get their sourcing on? We asked a few Texas Poshers where their go-to place is to find all the hidden gems.
Austin Pets Alive! Thrift (5801 Burnet Rd, Austin, TX 78756 + 1409 West Oltorf Street Austin, TX 78704)
Austin Pets Alive! (APA) has selections of new and gently used clothing for low prices, what’s not to like? Even better, all proceeds from APA go to their animal shelter.
Texas Thrift (5319 I-35, Austin, TX 78723)
“A really big store but you can find some great hidden gems!” Everything from household items to racks on racks of clothing, you’re bound to end up spending your entire day inside.
List, share, ship, coffee, repeat! Fuel up at these local coffee favorites that the community loves a latte below:
Summer Moon (Multiple locations)
This was recommended by more than a few Poshers so we knew it had to be good! This family-owned business has been around for 7 years and continues to custom hand-roast their coffee each and every day.
Bennu Coffee (Multiple locations)
A coffee shop that’s open 24 hours (Just like Poshmark?!), sign us up! With plenty of indoor/outdoor seating, take a break and make this place your office for a day. Bennu also serves the acclaimed cold brew coffee, Chameleon Cold Brew.
Radio Coffee & Beer (4204 Manchaca Rd, Austin, TX 78704)
Coffee or beer, pick your poison. The owner of Radio Coffee & Beer, Jack, has spent years learning about coffee and crafting beer so why not combine the best of both worlds? One Posher notes, “Plenty of space, great place to bring your dog and often has a lot of music events and markets.”
Take a new or old PFF (Posh Friend Forever) out on the town in Austin with these cool spots:
Whisler’s + Lazarus Brewing Co. (1902 E 6th St, Austin, TX 78702)
This is a two-for-one combo. Head on over to the Whisler’s for some cocktails (“the best cocktails in the city”) then make your way to Lazarus Brewing Co. right across the street.
Garage (503 Colorado St, Austin, TX 78701)
Keep your eyes peeled for this one. The cozy, cocktail-favorite Garage Bar is located inside an actual parking garage. You’ll know you’re there when you see a turquoise neon sign.
But food first, always. Treat yourself by getting your grub on at one of these highly recommended restaurants.
Arlo’s (Multiple locations)
Plant-based comfort food that’ll satisfy any vegan taste buds.
The Peached Tortilla (5520 Burnet Rd #100, Austin, TX 78756)
Once you’ve wrapped up shopping at Austin Pets Alive, head over to The Peached Tortilla for some awesome Southern-Asian fusion food.
Ramen Tatsuya (Multiple locations)
Skip BBQ for a day and get yourself a bowl of well-crafted ramen. One Posher notes, “Get the ‘Mi So Hot’ if you like spicy or ‘Me So Not’ if you don’t.”
Every city has their somethin’ special, so we wanted to know what makes Austin stand out from all the rest:
