Posh Tip: How to Become a Suggested User

One of the most common questions around Poshmark has got to be, “how do I become a Suggested User?” That’s why we decided to share the low-down on this program! Read on to get the scoop!

  • Be in good standing. Being a Suggested User is like being an ambassador—a big part of the role is ushering in, welcoming, and helping educate new users as they become part of our community. As such, we’re looking for Poshers who are proactive about getting to know our rules and follow them to a T. A few helpful hints? Do not have unsupported items or coordinate offline transactions/communications. You’ll also want to be sure that you conduct yourself in a professional manner that is in line with our Community Guidelines at all times.
  • Maintain a full closet. Fill up your closet with at least 25 awesome listings and start promoting. Poshers must have at least three successful transactions under their belt before qualifying for the program.
  • Be social. Meet and connect with fellow Poshers. Browse, like, and share your favorite listings. Getting to know and keeping in touch with the Community will make you a well-rounded Posher! At this time we ask that all candidates for the Suggested Users program be a member of the Poshmark community for at least three months.
  • Have personality! There is almost nothing we love more than clean, clear, creative Covershots (say that 10 times fast!). Wear your garment and take a selfie (or grab a friend to snap a pic for you!) or even create a layout of pretty items on an attractive, clean surface. And don’t forget the key to all amazing photos: good lighting! Bright, uncluttered images presents your listings in the best way and ensures they will capture the attention of potential buyers. Need inspiration? See our blog post on amazing covershots for ideas.

Does the above criteria sound like you? Then be sure to fill out our application here!

  • Once we’ve received your application, we will add you to our list of interested candidates and reach out as soon as we’ve had a chance to take a look at your closet.
  • Please do wait patiently. We have a long list of eager candidates and are working hard daily to ensure every eligible Posher gets a shot at being added to the program.
  • If you have any questions, please reach out to su@poshmark.com – we’d love to hear from you!

  1. with all the members how do you go about finding the closets you want to tag as “Suggested User” ?
I’ve been on Poshmark for over a year now [daily] and I am super active in all respects … I would very much like to be considered for a suggested user. Take a look Pretty Please ” ) @nkathy

      • Interesting though, how for some it seems to only take a few weeks and others months. I emailed, back in November 2014, (I started on PM in July 2014) yet a posher who joined PM in December 2014, is now a SU. I am so happy for her, she has a great closet, was just surprised because in Jan. she was asking for help herself, as a new posher. 🙂

  2. Would you please consider putting me on your suggested user list? I would be more than happy to help and support new Poshmarkers as I already do. Thank you for taking the time to look into my closet. Have a wonderful day and Happy Poshing

  3. I’m excited about the new Suggested user Program! Although I haven’t been a member for as long as most, I feel that I have already gotten the hang of it! I suggest to users out there to delve into the Poshmark blogs and policies because they are there to help you and make you a more successful seller!! Being unemployed has really put a crunch on things, but selling on Posh has help me contribute a little to our paying our bills (: Thanks Poshmark!

Gave a great day & Happy Poshing,
    Hannah Caudle

  4. Hi! I am new to Posh and would truly value a “Posh Mentor” to not only provide insight to the best ways to be successfully selling, but, also to allow me to eventually help new Poshers be successful.

I am impressed with the outreach and support I have experienced in the two days that I have been here.

    Happy New Year!

    Thank you!

    • Hi Cylvan, We don’t formally have a mentorship program, but if you reach out to suggested users in the app, there would undoubtedly be several Posh mentors wanting to help. If you want to speak directly to a community team member about linking up with Poshers, email support@poshmark.com. Thanks!

      • Hi Great Support People –
Just wanted to let you know that there are fabulous women here who generously offer to help new Poshers. 🙂 I wish there was a way to recognize them in front of all Poshers on the site. They are role models and ambassadors for Poshmark. 🙂

        Thank you!

    • Welcome to Poshmark!!! You will love it here. I’ve been on PM for over 2 years and LOVE meeting new poshers!!! My closet is @missrochelles . I will def check out your closet & help share!!! 🙂

    • Wow, you were just asking for help as a new Posher and here you are a SU, congrats! Thanks so great!! I’m still waiting. 😦 I emailed back in November 2014.

    • Hi Clara –

Thank you! I’ll happily and gratefully accept! I really appreciate your generosity of spirit. You “posh-itively” rock!

Being a Poshmark SU shows how much you love and live for this app we call home! It takes work, patience and dedication to become an SU but it is definitely a goal to have for every new Posher. Cheers!

  7. On the FAQs it says trading is allowed but not encouraged – will trading prevent you from becoming a suggested user?

  8. […] Well, there you have it! It might seem too tedious and like it takes hard work, but if you are a Poshmark addict (or you simply spend time browsing for stuff on Poshmark), then you’re pretty much halfway there. All you have to do is be an active and supportive user, have a good closet, and be in good standing! Check out Poshmark’s blog as well! Here’s their post on this topic: Posh Tip. […]
