Posh Tip: The Three Ps for Packaging Your Sale

There’s only one thing better than getting a #PoshFind delivered to your door, and that’s being able to send one off to a newfound PFF! Here are some tips and tricks for making your #PoshPackage oh-so-sweet:

Personalize It

Whether sleek and simple is your style or you love all things color, let your personal style shine through. A twist of colorful ribbon, a touch of rustic twine, wrapping paper, customized stickers—little touches like this can make all the difference when shipping off your buyer’s new #PoshFind. The icing on the cake? A handwritten thank you note, straight from you to your new PFF!

Plus, don’t forget to snap a pic and share on social with #PoshPackage to show off your fine work!

Protect It

Be sure to choose the right kind of packaging for your order. Shipping envelopes can work for smaller items that can be folded, such as tops or skirts. When it comes to shipping out that delicate necklace, a pair of sunglasses, or a structured bag, boxes always work best. Just be sure to choose a size that best fits your needs, and don’t forget to add padding when necessary! Wrapping up your item in tissue paper doesn’t just look pretty, it also helps protect it. We’ve also love using magazine pages, torn straight from our fave fashion mags, to add a little bit of padding to a package.

Post-Its!

We know how easy it is to mix up an item or two when you’re packaging up multiple orders. Here’s our little secret: Post-It notes! Just jot down the item (or items) in the order on a Post-It note, stick it on the shipping label right after you print it out, and double check your boxes right before you tape them up. That way, you can make sure that your West Coast PFF gets those shoes she’s been eyeing while your East Coast PFF gets her bag. A little reminder goes a long way!

  1. Good Morning Posh,

I am 1divacloset and I have had my very first sale. I have printed the mail receipt etc., but still have not received an answer to a question I sent weeks ago. How do I communicate with other posh participants that “LIKE” my listings OR in this case — if I wanted to send a email thanking my “buyer” and telling them their item is on the way? What’s the process. Appreciate hearing from you ASAP. I’ll let you know if I have questions about sending my package tomorrow (today is a holiday).

    1. Hi Vjean, did you reach out to support@poshmark.com? That’s the best way to get in touch for someone to provide direct support. As for communicating with the buyer, Poshmark automatically sends communication emails letting them know that their package has been shipped. You can communicate to “likers” in a listing’s comments by tagging them with the @ symbol in front of their closet name (no spaces).
