Introducing PoshPost

When you make a sale on Poshmark, we provide you with a pre-paid, pre-addressed shipping label. No stamps. No hassle. Now that’s what we call PoshPost!

Here’s a breakdown of how much weight our pre-paid shipping labels cover in each country:

  • United States: up to 5lbs.
  • Canada: up to 2.5kgs.
  • Australia: up to 2.5kgs.
  • India: up to 2kgs.

If your package weighs more, you can get a label upgrade directly through the app for an extra fee.

1. Finding the Right Box

  • United States: Our partnership with USPS allows you to use Priority Mail, Priority Flat Rate & Priority Regional Rate boxes. Note: Our label does not support Express Mail boxes. You can request FREE boxes from USPS? They’ll even drop them off at your house!
  • Canada: With Canada Post, you can purchase any Priority envelopes or boxes. Note: Our label does not support Xpresspost boxes.
  • Australia: With Sendle, you can use your own packaging materials or purchase their compostable A4 Satchels. Note: Avoid using branded packaging from other shipping carriers like the Australia Post.
  • India: You can use your own packaging materials, shipped using our third-party shipping partner for a flat rate of ₹ 99.
  • Posh Tip for all countries: You can also use a size-appropriate, regular brown box to ship your items (just make sure you remove any previous labels before shipping).

2. Packaging Up Your Sale

We recommend adding a special touch to your #PoshPackages.

Here are a few ideas that we love:

  • Wrapping items with decorative (and recyclable!) tissue paper or a ribbon.
  • Adding a heartfelt handwritten note explaining what a purchase means to you!

Package Drop Off:

  • United States: Drop your package in a USPS mailbox (if it fits) or drop it off at your local post office.
  • Canada: Drop your package in a Canada Post mailbox (if it fits) or drop it off at your local post office.
  • Australia: Select Package Drop Off when creating your pre-paid shipping label in the app. Print the label, attach it to your package, and drop your package off at the nearest Sendle location.
  • India: Package drop off is not available at this time.

Package Pickup

  • United States: Schedule a pickup online via USPS.
  • Canada: Register as a small business (it’s free!) and schedule a pickup for a small fee via Canada Post.
  • Australia: Select Package Pickup when creating your pre-paid shipping label in the app. Print the label, attach it to your package, and place your package outside for pickup.
  • India: Create your printable shipping label by heading over to the Account tab, select My Sales, and then choose Package Pickup. Then place your shipping label on the package so it’s ready for pick up. Our shipping partner will collect it from your doorstep. Please note that pickup can occur anytime from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

  1. Hi, today I shipped out a few items and I think I used the wrong boxes. They had a flat rate ..oops! What will happen, will poshers still receive their items??

    Thanks *New to this*

  2. Hi everyone!

I’m still new to Poshmark, so I’m still rough around the edges and learning tips and tricks to a better sale.

My question is, if you are preparing shoes to be shipped, how would you package them? Thank you for your time. Looking forward to your reply!

    1. Please ensure to package all items securely in a proper package. USPS Priority Mail (not Priority Mail Flat Rate) are preferred. While not required, it’s nice to wrap the item in tissue or other decorative element to add a personal, thoughtful touch for your buyer. If you have any more questions, please reach out to support@poshmark.com.

  3. Does anyone know if I can use white shipping envelopes? They have little green arrows around the boarder that say “first class”

    1. Hi Ryley, you can use these envelopes as long as they’re durable enough to protect the item. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.

  4. So do I just tape the sheet that was sent in the email onto the box/envelope? Is it ok if I send the shipment the next day (the email says today, I want to send it tomorrow) because the post office is closed, or can I just drop it in the little blue mailbox thing?
    Thank you!

    1. Hi Mia, Yes, please cut out the label and securely affix to the box with packaging tape. You can drop it off in the USPS mailbox, drop off at a USPS location or go to USPS.com to schedule a pickup at your home.

    1. Hi Sarah, you sure can! Just make sure it’s not Priority Mail Flat Rate, which is a different class of shipment within the USPS.

  5. I’m a little confused, do I, the seller pay for shipping, or does the buyer pay for it and how does it work?

    1. Hi Kaylee, Buyers pay for shipping on Poshmark. There is a flat $5 fee that covers 2-3 day Priority Mail service. Sellers receive the shipping label automatically as an attachment to the sale confirmation email. If you have any more questions, please reach out to support@poshmark.com.

  6. Although I ordered Priority Mail boxes online they were back ordered and I still haven’t received them. I had some flat rate boxes at home so I used a marker and blacked out all of the writing on the box and when I took it in the PO lady was very rude and said it would still be taken as a flat rate box and the receiving customer would have to pay the difference. Is this true? How is marking it all out any different than putting paper or stickers over it? Was the PO lady just trying to be obnoxious?

  7. I just sold my first item on posh mark and I want to clarify I am going to do the correct steps. First I’m going to box my sale in a box I have at home already, second I’m going to print the label, then third I’m gonna put it in a mail box that down the street from me. Is that all or did I miss something. Thanks. 🙂

  8. How do I know my shipping box is over 5lb ? Like shoes , how much is the weight for one pair of sandals , wedges , heels or boots ??

  9. I have a USPS Priority Flat Rate box at home. Is it okay to wrap the box in brown paper to cover all the markings and use this to ship the item?

  10. Hi postmark! This is my first time selling and I was wondering that since I get a bubble wrap pink envelope package from ipsy would that be okay to use?

  11. I just received my label and I’m not sure how to package it, do I wrap it up and then put it in a box or? I checked online for just the plain brown boxes that yall said we should use and not the flat rate or whatever but I don’t see it online I just see the flat rate and express boxes that are free. What should I do? This is my first sell which you can prolly tell by now…

    1. Hi Hau. Yes, once you make a sale you should package up the item securely and carefully and attach the supplied label. You can use a plain brown box you might already have on hand, or you can request Priority Mail (not flat rate) boxes from USPS.com or pick them up directly from your local post office. If you have any more questions, please reach out to support@poshmark.com.

  12. Does it matter if the U.S. Priority Mail piece demarcates “domestic and international shipping”?

I’ve ordered the wrong boxes like three separate times so clear guidelines or even links would be super helpful.

  13. Hi, I made my first sale today and I just shipped my package to buyer and the post office worker scanned it and gave me a receipt, I used the poshmark shipping label and when I check on poshmark it says that its pending for order to be scanned, did I do something wrong?

  14. THIS IS MY FIRST TIME SELLING IM A BIT CONFUSED ON HOW TO GET THE BOX TO SHIP MY ITEM. I SEE SOME PEOPLE HAVE SAID THAT THE BOX WERE SUPPOSED TO USE IS SUPPOSED TO BE SHIPPED TO MY HOUSE? IM CONFUSED . P.S SORRY FOR ALL CAPS KEYBOARD BROKE. PLS HELP

  15. I use whatever box is free in the Loby and wrap the package in brown paper. They liked it our post office.B-)

  16. Hi, is there anyway I could use brown shipping paper to mail my item instead of an actual box? Thanks!

    1. Hi Alisha, we would recommend a box or sturdy envelope to ensure that your item stays in pristine condition on its way to the buyer.

  17. I sent out a package in a flat rate box on accident. I know it will be sent back to me, but when I send it back out can I use the same label that was emailed to me or do I have to request for a new label?

  18. I didn’t put a credit card number on my account to begin with , but now I have someone requesting to buy my coach purse but I’m not sure how to recieve my money and it is ready to be sent out as well . Can anyone help asap ? Plz & thanks !!!

    1. Hi Karlie, your credit card information is not needed to make a sale. Once you ship your item and your item is accepted, your funds will be credited to your account. You can then request direct deposit or a check, or use the credit to shop on Poshmark. For more help, see our Posh Guide: http://www.poshmark.com/posh_guide.

  19. Hi! Quick question-I just had a girl buy two of my items back to back that weren’t bundled or anything, they were just two separate items from my closet. So as usual, I got emailed the shipping label for both. Does that mean I should mail her items in separate boxes as I would if it weren’t going to different people? Or can I mail the items in the same box? Thanks for your time!

  20. I was wondering why we can’t package our stuff in usps priority flat rate boxes or ups? Why do we have to use plain brown boxes?

    1. Hi Naira, Poshmark’s prepaid labels are USPS Priority Mail. Flat Rate boxes are for another class of mail by USPS. You can order free USPS Priority Mail boxes directly from usps.com.

  21. Hi, I went to the post office today and they wouldn’t take the Priority mail box, so the lady gave me small flat rate box to ship it to the buyer. Im really confused about this

  22. i wish i wouldve known about this.
i paid for shipping an everything.
    kshh
    new @ this.
    lols.
    o welllls,now i know for nx time::)

  23. So when someone purchases an item off my page, I print the shipping label, and how do I attach it/ do I have to pay for the shipping?

    1. Hi Alyssa, when you make a sale, the shipping is paid for by the seller and you can find the label attached in the email confirmation of the sale. Attach it securely with packing tape and you’re good to go! If you have further questions, please reach out to support@poshmark.com or see our Posh Guide: poshmark.com/posh_guide.

  24. Pretty sure I just shipped with the flat rate.. They said its free…she took it… So I’m confused. I can’t use the envelopes?? Just the boxes?

    1. Hi Tiffany, it’s a different classification of mail within USPS no matter the package type (envelopes or box). They may accept it, but it may also lead to complications. In the future, use Priority Mail shipping materials, not Priority Mail Flat Rate, or your own boxes. If you need further clarification, please reach out to support@poshmark.com.

  25. Hello, I shipped an item today and I made sure to use the free priority mail envelope at the post office. I just received the tracking email and on the postal product it reflects “Priority Mail-3 Day” can someone tell me what I did wrong as it should say 2-day 😞

    1. Hi Paola, Labels can vary from 2-3 days and ship dates are calculated by USPS and are based on zip codes. The dates are an estimation, not a guarantee.

  26. i see a priority mail shoe box online. Can I use that to ship out my item and that will be covered my shipping?

    1. Right!! Lady at my post office said they robbing yal of money. 5lbs and your item isnt even that.

  27. I went to the post office today to drop off the package and I originally had the one box, but the post office worker took a different box out and told me to use it. Now that I’m looking at it, I think it was a flat rate box. He completed the transaction and gave me a receipt. It says pre-paid mailpiece acceptance. Will this ship? I’m concerned that I was given the wrong box.

      1. Its the priority box without the flat rate on it. You can ship in anything that the po approves. It doesn’t have to be the po boxes as long as its got yhe shipping label on it.

  28. hi poshmark, if we upgrade the shipping label due to item being heavier then 5lbs. Do we pay for the upgrade or does the buyer?

  29. Hello,
This question may be silly, but I am a little confused because you have a picture as an example with blue letters on the box. But when I go the the USPS web site to request boxes all seems to have red letters.
    Is there any difference?
As long as it says “Priority Mail” works?
With red letter It is very similar to the Flat boxes.
Please let me know if there is any difference between the boxes with red letter and blue letters when you have a moment.
    Thank you! 🙂

  30. I’m new at this posh website. I need help with how to ship an item that someone just brought. Please help

  31. Can I use a shoe box to ship my items? I plan to wrap the box anyway but just wanted to make sure that I send it this way. Thanks

    1. Hi Jennaine, you can use your own box, but please be sure to package it carefully and consider how protected the item might be in non-USPS packaging. Better to be safe than sorry!

      1. Dear posh mark for some reason when I try to buy something it doesn’t work😡

    2. U can use anything as long as the po approves. Just be sure to use t g e shipping label from posh mark.

    1. Yes, you can use a non-USPS box to ship items. Just be careful that the label is clearly visible and it is packaged in a way that will protect the items being shipped.

  32. Which boxes can we use to ship? Is the priority flat rate box okay? This is my first sell and I am a little confused about which box. The ones that are free on the link are all priority mail.

      1. I order the boxes online free and my post person delivers to my door. Happy Holidays all 🙂

  33. Can I use brown boxes from the UPS store? They have the ups logo on it but other than that, it’s a plain brown box?

  34. I tried to get the padded priority envelopes but they only have flat rate padded envelope. Can I use these?

    1. Hi, Wendy – Unfortunately, you can’t use flat rate boxes or envelopes, as this will result in the post office sending the package back to you. You can order priority boxes or envelopes for free through usps.com or use a plain padded envelope. Hope that helps!

      1. Hi Django, Please note that Priority Mail flat rate is a different class of mail than Priority Mail. The labels we provide are Priority Mail, so it is best to avoid any USPS flat rate packaging. If you have an issue or a question, please reach out to support@poshmark.com.

  35. Just an FYI went to the post office to get priority boxes today. My post office told me they are only available online. Don’t know if that is true for everyone.

      1. Hi Row, yes, you can use your own shipping materials. Just please be sure that items are securely packaged so that they will be received in good condition.

      2. Yes you can. I Even use the boxes that the post office has free and wrap in brown paper when my correct box order hasn’t arrived yet.

      3. What if I have more than one box to ship? Can the shipping label be used on all three boxes?

      4. Hi Caleigh, the shipping label is attached in the sale confirmation email. You can also download directly from the app under your account, my purchases, and then click on the relevant sold listing.

    1. Not true. But it does depend on the individual post office. I’ve been selling on eBay for years and I’ve visited many post offices. They all typically have Priority “flat rate” items but it varies with basic Priority “Mailing Box”. If you can’t find them at your local post office it wouldn’t hurt to try the next town over or a bigger city of possible. Otherwise, you can order them in groups of 5 online (FREE!) but it takes up to 3-5 days for them to deliver.
